My mom wants me to figure out everything I can to get more financial aid, and she thinks that if I get a really good SAT score, then my financial aid is going to go up. Is this possible? what about the ACT?
Best Answer
There is merit-based financial aid, but this is not what people generally refer to when they talk about financial aid. Merit-based financial aid consists of scholarships, and you usually need to apply for them. This means that your test scores, GPA, etc. will affect your eligibility for these kinds of financial rewards.

This means that your qualifications and merits do not affect your financial aid. The only thing that can affect your financial aid is a demonstration of financial need. This means that your financial situation is the sole determiner of your financial aid, and your test scores, GPA, extracurriculars, and essays will not affect it.
